Hans Crezee received his PhD degree in 1993.
He is Principal Investigator for hyperthermia research at Amsterdam University Medical Center, University of Amsterdam, Cancer Center Amsterdam since 2008, project leader for >20 research projects, and coordinated the European consortium project H2020-MSCA-ITN-2020-955625 “HYPERBOOST”. He published >240 peer reviewed publications, h-index=59.
His main research interests include new/improved hyperthermia techniques and planning, preclinical research and clinical hyperthermia. Several devices and treatment planning were translated into clinical and commercial use.
He is president of the European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology, editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Hyperthermia.
He was awarded the merit award of the European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology (2018), the biennial George Hahn award of the Society for Thermal Medicine (2023).
